A military judge alone decided guilt in 10 cases. Members heard the rest: 5 enlisted panels and 1 officer panel. Members heard 38% of the cases, compared with 28% Air Force-wide. The accused usually makes this choice.

The accused were 10 junior enlisted members (E-1 to E-4), 5 NCOs (E-5 to E-9), and 1 officer or warrant officer. That is more junior than Air Force-wide, where 58% were junior enlisted. General courts-martial made up 69% of the cases (11 of 16).

## Compared With 2019–2023

Nellis had 46 cases in 2019–2023, about 9 a year, and about 6 a year since. The contested share went from 42% to 64%. The general court-martial share went from 52% to 69%. Small groups change with a few cases, so these figures show direction, not precision.

## New Rules and What the Records Omit

The cases ran from June 2024 to April 2026: 7 in 2024, 6 in 2025, and 3 in 2026, a partial year. They are 3% of the 598 Air Force courts-martial in those years.

Since December 28, 2023, special trial counsel decide whether to prosecute covered offenses such as sexual assault, domestic violence, and murder. Sentencing parameters apply when every guilty finding is for an offense after December 27, 2023\. The records give trial dates, not offense dates, so they cannot show which rules applied to each case, and they do not describe the evidence or plea terms.
