**Short answer:** Camp Lejeune, North Carolina tried 11 Article 121 (larceny) cases in 2024–2026\. Of the 10 convicted enlisted members, 5 received a punitive discharge (50%), the same share as across all Navy and Marine Corps Article 121 cases, and down from 94% at Camp Lejeune in 2019–2023\. The median confinement was 3 months, compared with 7 months in the earlier period.

Based on 11 cases · 2024–2026 · Navy and Marine Corps records · data updated October 24, 2026

## Fewer Punitive Discharges Than in 2019–2023

Among 10 enlisted members convicted, 5 received a bad-conduct or dishonorable discharge (50%). The share in all Navy and Marine Corps Article 121 cases in 2024–2026 was also 50%. None of the 5 were dishonorable discharges.

In 2019–2023, 94% of convicted enlisted members at Camp Lejeune received a punitive discharge. A sentence without one does not rule out a later administrative separation.

## Shorter Confinement

10 cases ended in a conviction on at least one charge, and 7 of those sentences included confinement (70%). The median was 3 months, compared with 4 months in all Navy and Marine Corps Article 121 cases.

In 2019–2023, the median at Camp Lejeune was 7 months and 97% of convictions included confinement. These are adjudged sentences, before any plea-agreement cap, clemency, or appeal, and each covers every charge in the case.

## The Earlier Period Side by Side

The records show 32 Article 121 cases at Camp Lejeune in 2019–2023, about 6 a year, compared with about 4 a year since (full years only). General courts-martial went from 44% to 18% of cases. Only 1 of the 9 recorded pleas since 2024 was contested, compared with 33% before. With 11 cases, a few outcomes can move these figures.

| | 2019–2023 | 2024–2026 |
| ----------------------------------- | --------- | --------- |
| Cases | 32 | 11 |
| Contested (of pleas recorded) | 33% | 1 of 9 |
| Full acquittals (decided contested) | 0 of 5 | 0 of 1 |
| Convictions with confinement | 97% | 70% |
| Median confinement | 7 months | 3 months |
| Punitive discharge (enlisted) | 94% | 50% |
| General courts-martial | 44% | 18% |

## Larceny Was Rarely Charged Alone

Only 1 of the 11 cases charged Article 121 by itself, compared with 22 of 68 in all Navy and Marine Corps Article 121 cases. Article 107 (false official statement) appeared in 4 cases, Article 108 (military property) in 4, Article 92 (orders violation) in 2, Article 115 (communicating threats) in 1, and Article 106 (impersonation) in 1.

## Special Courts-Martial Tried Most Cases

Special courts-martial tried 9 cases and general courts-martial tried 2\. The general share was 18%, the same as across the Navy and Marine Corps. A special court-martial caps confinement at one year and cannot impose a dishonorable discharge.

Among the accused with rank recorded, junior enlisted members (E-1 to E-4) were 50% and NCOs were 50%. Across all Navy and Marine Corps Article 121 cases, junior enlisted members were 51%.

## Timing and the 2023 Rule Changes

The 11 trials ran from March 2024 through July 2026: 3 in 2024, 5 in 2025, and 3 in 2026, a partial year. They were 9% of the 119 courts-martial at Camp Lejeune in those years.

Since December 28, 2023, special trial counsel decide whether to prosecute covered offenses, and new sentencing parameters apply when every guilty finding is for an offense after December 27, 2023\. The records give trial dates, not offense dates, so they cannot show which rules applied to each case.
