**Short answer:** Camp Humphreys held 14 courts-martial in 2024\. Of the convicted enlisted members, 50% received a punitive discharge, compared with 72% across the Army. Sexual assault charges under Article 120 appeared in 29% of cases, compared with 15% Army-wide.

Based on 14 cases · 2024 · Army records · data updated October 24, 2026

## Punitive Discharges for 50% of Enlisted Convictions

A punitive discharge followed 50% of enlisted convictions at Camp Humphreys in 2024\. There were 3 bad-conduct discharges and 3 dishonorable discharges. For all Army cases in 2024, the share was 72%.

The records also show 1 convicted officer or warrant officer, who was not dismissed. A sentence without a punitive discharge does not rule out a later administrative separation.

## Charges in the 2024 Cases

All 14 records list the charges. Article 120 (rape and sexual assault) and assault under Article 128 each appeared in 4 cases (29%). The Army-wide shares were 15% and 23%. Larceny under Article 121 appeared in 3 cases (21%), compared with 7%.

Article 134, the general article, appeared in only 1 case (7%), compared with 21% in the rest of the Army.

## Confinement in 12 of 13 Convictions

Of the 14 cases, 13 ended in a conviction on at least one charge, and 12 of those sentences included confinement (92%). The median confinement was 6 months, the same as the Army-wide median. Among the sentences that included confinement, a quarter were 2.2 years or longer.

These are adjudged sentences. They were set at trial before any plea-agreement cap, clemency, or appeal, and each covers every charge in the case.

## Pleas and Forum

The accused pleaded guilty in 10 cases and contested 4\. The contested share was 29%, compared with 27% across the Army. All 10 guilty pleas are recorded with a plea agreement, though Army records do not show the terms. Of the 4 contested cases that reached a verdict, 1 ended in a full acquittal.

A military judge alone decided guilt in 11 of 14 cases (79%). Members heard 3: 2 enlisted panels and 1 officer panel.

## Rank and Court Level

The accused were 6 junior enlisted members (E-1 to E-4), 7 NCOs (E-5 to E-9), and 1 officer or warrant officer. Across the Army, 53% of the accused were junior enlisted.

General courts-martial made up 9 of the 10 cases with a court level listed (90%), compared with 75% in the rest of the Army. The court level is not listed for 4 cases. A special court-martial caps confinement at one year and cannot impose a dishonorable discharge.

## Kaiserslautern and Fort Campbell

Kaiserslautern (Europe) with 25 cases and Fort Campbell with 27 tried a similar number of cases in 2024\. Their median confinement was 9 months and 8 months, longer than the 6 months at Camp Humphreys. Their punitive discharge shares, 87% and 91%, were also higher.

Contested shares were 24% and 15%. Full acquittals came in 1 of 6 contested cases at Kaiserslautern and 2 of 4 at Fort Campbell.

## New Rules and Limits of the Data

Since December 28, 2023, special trial counsel, not commanders, decide whether to prosecute covered offenses such as sexual assault, domestic violence, and murder. New sentencing parameters apply when every guilty finding is for an offense after December 27, 2023\. Both depend on offense dates, which the records do not give.

The records cover only cases that reached a courtroom. They do not include nonjudicial punishment or administrative separation, and they do not describe the evidence or the plea terms.
