Out on Bail, With Rules: What Clavicular's Release Conditions Mean

Livestreamer Braden Peters, known online as Clavicular, pleaded not guilty Thursday in Orleans District Court on Cape Cod to charges of rape, drugging a person for sexual intercourse, and procuring liquor for someone under 21. He walked out on bail. But the bail came with rules, and breaking them could put him in jail before any trial.

The plea and the bail. CBS News Boston and The Boston Globe both report that Judge John Julian set bail at $10,000. Peters, 20, must stay away from his accuser, must not post about her online, and must surrender his passport. The Associated Press, via NBC4 Washington, reports the same conditions and adds that prosecutors did not object to his release.

The warning. The accounts differ slightly here. The Globe and the AP say the judge warned that a new offense could mean up to 90 days held without bail. CBS News Boston reports the judge said his bail would be revoked if he is arrested again.

The allegations and his response. The charges stem from an alleged May 2025 encounter with a 17-year-old at his family's home in Chatham, according to CBS News Boston and the AP. These are allegations only. Peters denies them and says the encounter was consensual, both outlets report.

The defense filings. His lawyers filed papers Wednesday. The Globe describes a motion asking that prosecutors preserve evidence, including police body-camera video of a June 2026 meeting between the complainant, her Florida civil lawyer, and Chatham police. CBS News Boston reports the defense also filed text messages and a letter it says show an ongoing relationship.

What comes next. A probable cause hearing is set for Nov. 24, CBS News Boston and the AP report. It is a test of the evidence, not a trial.
