The Associated Press reports that South Carolina agents charged three men this week over an alleged 2018 sexual assault that Rep. Nancy Mace described in a February 2025 House floor speech. Courthouse News reports a fourth man named in that speech was not charged, and that his libel suit against Mace was dismissed. That dismissal shows a wall many accused people never see coming.
What was charged. The AP reports the charges include criminal sexual conduct, assault and battery, voyeurism, obstruction of justice and publishing a victim's name. Courthouse News reports the men have denied the allegations. ABC News 4 reports first court appearances are set for December 4. These are accusations. Every defendant is presumed innocent.
